The Lover's Eye Brooch and Finch

An original mixed media portrait on a thick Khadi cotton rag paper, with a lovely deckled edge. This young beauty is accompanied by her companion a finch, and is wearing a Victorian Lover's Eye brooch, a symbol of expressing devotion between loved ones. Some were painted in memory of the deceased. The substrate is highly absorbent which causes the paint to take on a very pleasing matt quality, which in turn makes the portrait seem almost antique. Size approx. 21cm x 15cm.
